The loan is available to owners of single family homes and covers a wide variety of energy saving improvements including insulation, energy efficient heating and cooling equipment, air sealing and duct sealing, windows and doors, water heaters, solar panels, geothermal systems and more.
How Does a PowerSaver Loan Work?
A PowerSaver loan is an FHA backed, low interest loan of up to $25,000 to cover energy saving home improvements. It is available to owner occupied single family homes (not including mobile homes or manufactured housing) and covers a wide range of energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements. Typically, 50% of the loan is disbursed upon closing, with the remaining 50% becoming available after the energy retrofit is complete.
